Baby Griffin was my first VBAC! Well, not mine, per se, but the first I've photographed. It was an honor to be a part of. He wasn't due til the 28th, but decided to make his appearance early. The labor started early in the morning and I got there about mid afternoon and Mr G came at 11 pm. It was a long labor and mama didn't complain at all. She kept talking to Griffin (who was then just known as "babby") and getting ready to meet him. It was a long and often difficult birth, but boy what a beautiful result! Congrats to mama on her successful HBAC!
When she was officially a week old and was happily home from the hospital, getting to know her brothers and extended family, I managed to get over there and get some sweet pictures of my goddaughter. I will tell you, this was the easiest newborn session I've ever done. This kid slept LIKE A LOG. Even after she soiled my blankets and I had to wipe her with a cold wipie, she dozed peacefully. I am thinking she should offer training classes! I was totally a smitten kitten at this shoot!
This birth was a pretty special one for me. Well, they all are, but this one a bit moreso. My friend S and her husband E were a huge part of my wedding as well as amazing friends. I was honored beyond belief to be asked to be the godmother of their daughter, Veronica. Our local hospitals only allow one person in the OR for a scheduled c-section (well, any c-section), but I was able to accompany them to the "before" room and then later the recovery room. I have to tell you -- it was love at first sight! Congrats, S &E!!!!
Oh the holidays are upon us! I just wanted to divide up my belated November post, so no one is overwhelmed looking at pictures :)
I am planning an actual website that will incorporate a portfolio site and a blog all in one soon -- but its still in the works. My sweet friend Jessica is working on it as we speak! Here's a quick highlight of December so far!
Fall is definately busy season around here! I had a great time photographing various families lately and I wanted to be able to share them, but honestly do not have the time to post a separate blog entry for each, so I thought I'd give a quick overview of my November. The first picture I'm especially fond of, but it's because I'm biased -- they're mine :)
